About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Morgan Dufour. This year, I’m excited to be joining the staff at Keika as an Assistant Language Teacher. I am pleased to have the opportunity to teach English at such a wonderful school. In addition to teaching English, I have become involved in various school clubs and activities, which has been a rewarding experience for me. As I will be spending a considerable amount of time with the students, I wish to tell you a little bit about myself.
I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, which is the capital of Canada. Although Ottawa is where I was born, I moved a lot due to my father’s job. When I was two I moved to Victoria, British Columbia, at age six I moved to Pugwash, Nova Scotia, and when I was seven I moved to Niederheid, Germany. I returned to Ottawa when I was twelve and I finished high school and university there. From university I received my Honours Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Psychology degree.
Over the years, I have developed a desire to travel, meet new people, obtain new experiences and embrace different cultures. Other than travelling, I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, dancing, hiking, biking, and watching movies. Two of my favourite anime are Spirited Away and Sailor Moon.

About Ottawa
There are about 880,000 people currently living in Ottawa. To give you an idea of how many people that is, over 9, 000,000 people live in Tokyo’s 23 wards. That’s more than ten times bigger than Ottawa! Although there is a huge difference in population size, the land area covered by Ottawa and Tokyo is about the same. Another thing the two cities have in common is that they are both the capitals of their respective countries.

Ottawa is a beautiful city with many museums, art galleries, and historical sites. One of the things that Ottawa is most famous for is the Rideau Canal Skateway, which is the largest naturally frozen ice rink in the world, at 7.8 kilometers long.

Now that you’ve learned a few things about me and where I come from I hope that I will be able to learn more about each of the students over the coming year. I’m excited to teach students about Canada and the English language.
